Our scent is vegan and cruelty free

Is your fragrance cruelty free?

What are your thoughts on Veganism? One thing that’s certain is that it’s a growing trend, with 56% of Brits adopting vegan buying behaviours such as buying vegan products and making sure their toiletries are vegan, according to the Vegan Society.

Whether you choose to follow a vegan diet or not, the least we can all do is ensure our toiletries are cruelty free and don’t use animal products.

We can’t think of any reason to use a perfume that contains animal products or is tested on animals. Can you?

When it comes to fashion too, a Hitwise survey round that there was a 39% increase in searches for “vegan fashion” and “vegan clothes” from 2017 to 2018. It’s about time and we’re hoping this trend continues.

The vegan trend for toiletries and perfume

And the same trend goes for toiletries and perfume.  Over recent years, there has been a surge in beauty products with vegan credentials. In 2016, from those new launches, 31% were skincare products, 29% colour cosmetics, 23% hair colourants, 13% soap and bath products, but only 2% were fragrances

Clearly there’s some work to be done in the perfume world when it comes to veganism and animal cruelty.

Did you know that 80% of the world still allows cosmetics to be tested on animals?

And many of the big brands that say they don’t test on animals, will have a caveat stating “except when required by law” which essentially means that if they’re selling to China (which many are or want to), their products will be tested on animals.

Jones & Modha no1 is made with vegan, botanical ingredients and is not tested on animals. We are transparent and honest about what goes into our natural perfume - to see a full list of botanical ingredients, click here.
