Does your perfume contain petrochemicals?

We are all about transparency in fragrance

We started Jones & Modha as we became increasingly concerned by how the commercial perfume world lacked transparency when it came to ingredients. Did you know some contain animal products? Not many these days, admittedly, but they don’t have to list these ingredients. Some contain parabens and phthalates which can disrupt our hormones and not listing ingredients can be a problem for allergy sufferer and can affect those with asthma.

Many perfumes are still tested on animals

Then there’s the fact that some companies that still test on animals (especially if they are selling into China), which is totally unacceptable to us.

Many perfumes contain petrochemicals

And there’s the petrochemicals - yes - many commercial perfume brands ( you would definitely recognise their names) use petrochemicals to make the synthetic fragrances that mimic plant based scents. Again, these do not have to be listed and simply the word “fragrance” is used as a cover.

We find a lot of this pretty shocking and so chose to set up a natural perfume brand, using sustainable essential oils and naturally derived ingredients.

Check out the ingredients on your perfume.
