“Nature does not hurry yet everything is accomplished” Lao Tsu
We’ve learned patience through observing nature & creating a natural fragrance
In the world of natural perfume, we have learnt that patience and acceptance are essential. Patience was needed to find the perfumer that aligned with our vision of taking perfume making back to its roots of natural plant alchemy, of keeping things simple, using only plant and flower essences to create something unique and uplifting, that worked with nature not against her. Acceptance was needed to see that not everyone will get or even agree with what we’re doing.
The push and pressure to achieve more, do things quicker in life is strong and seeing this quote from Lao zsu, the 6th Century philosopher and founder of Taoism** reminded us once again to turn to stillness and patience. We remind ourselves that if we want to be aligned with nature, we must trust that all will be well.
Being patient with Winter, trusting Spring will come. Being patient with frozen ground, trusting the snowdrops will appear. Knowing nature delivers year after year.
We created Jones & Modha no.1 to reflect nature and all her glory. The moment when we spot the first snowdrop, the warmth of the watery Winter sun. There’s a feeling of uplift and wellbeing that reminds us we’re working with nature and complementing her strengths.
Too much of the world races to throw obstacles in nature’s path and Lao Tzu’s words are an important reminder.
“Nature does not hurry yet everything is accomplished”
We will keep on respecting nature with our natural ingredients invitation to experience perfume differently, in the hope that all beauty and fragrance goes that way too.
**Lao Tzu is perhaps better known for his quote, which we equally love:
“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”
